BUSH MANAGEMENT

EMTS bush management provides support, skills and information to Government, landholders and community members so they can undertake actions to assist in biodiversity conservation and management, including the identification and management of threats and the recovery of threatened species. This includes identification of significant assets, including vegetation communities, flora and fauna, and management of threats, such as environmental weeds. Our experience spans planning, regulatory approvals, implementation and monitoring. Our breadth of knowledge, and problem solving abilities have resulted in EMTS's engagement on projects beyond the capabilities of much larger organisations.

Our capacity to provide timely and relevant advice to clients is enhanced by our ability to provide services at all phases of a project - from pre-feasibility through to design, construction, operation and ultimate closure. Typically our expertise is employed in baseline ecological surveys, cultural heritage studies, impact assessments, the management of compliance issues, approvals and specifications, and in implementing environmental management programs.

 EMTS works to:

    • provide biodiversity information and technical and planning support to community, industry and government

    • develop, approve and assist with implementation of sustainable land use Management Plans
    • assist with development of  Management Plans for priority areas, an approach that allows for the management of multiple areas of remnant vegetation with like assets, threats and management needs
    • improve knowledge of vegetation communities and their habitat significance, relevant to long term management and protection of remnant vegetation
    • provide advice on best practice revegetation and habitat restoration to landholders and community groups, in liaison with the On-ground Works Program
