This course is designed to give the participants the knowledge and understanding of how fire originates, how it expands and the suppression techniques used to control it. It also demonstrates how to analyse each class of fire and select the correct fire extinguisher for each particular class. Safety aspects associated with the use of fire extinguishers and firefighting are also highlighted throughout the entire program. Course Overview: This course provides a comprehensive understanding of fire and associated dangers. The course explains what elements are required for fire to originate, it identifies fire suppression techniques, the classification of fires, the correct selection of extinguisher and use of other associated firefighting equipment commonly found in the workplace. This course has a strong safety component and focuses its emphasis on safety when dealing with fire and associated firefighting equipment.
