Purpose:
The aim of this training course is to provide attendees with knowledge of fire fighting procedures together with an awareness of fire prevention and the safe handling of dangerous goods
Course Duration: 2-3 Days

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the training program participants should be able to:

define basic fire fighting principals (Physics and Chemistry); |
| b) |
select the correct fire extinguisher for the appropriate class of fire |
| c) |
effectively use a fire extinguisher and fire hose; |
| d) |
identify fire and safety dangers and know their limitations; |
| e) |
outline the requirements for storage and handling of dangerous goods; |
| f) |
explain the emergency response actions for Fire, Chemical Spill, Leaks and Emissions |
| g) |
Select the appropriate protective clothing and equipment |
| h) |
Outline the dangers of confined spaces; |
| i) |
Explain preventive procedures |
| j) |
Identify fire hazards |
| k) |
Don and doff self-contained breathing apparatus and carry out inspections and testing on the apparatus; |
| l) |
Work together as a team |
Assessment:
On conclusion of this program participants will be expected to demonstrate knowledge through practical demonstrations and written and/or oral questions.
